Some early reports from a few customers indicated a compatibility issue with their DAC and the Recovery. What we found is that a very few brands of DACs require a much higher inrush of current from the USB bus than is typical of most others. This irregularly high power requirement caused the Recovery to go into ‘protect’ mode and essentially break communication between DAC and computer. When this happened, the DAC was not available as an output device and the user might’ve also seen a warning message that too much power was was being drawn from the USB port. Typically, the Recovery's LED lights were still lit (indicating that power from the USB port was being received).
We revised the Recovery board to allow for this higher power draw to go through. This update was adopted as the new standard implementation for all Recoverys. If you are experiencing compatibility issues as described above, we can update your Recovery with the revised board. Please click here for more information.
