But there's one thing AI can't do: it can't hear your system. It doesn't know your room. It doesn't know your speakers, your listening habits, the music you love, or what you're actually trying to improve. It can give you an answer, but it doesn't necessarily know your situation.

Audio is an interesting hobby. There are so many facts, guidelines, specifications, recommendations, and opinions that we tend to follow. It's easy to overcomplicate what should otherwise be a pretty simple question.

One search can lead to another, and before you know it, you've gone deep down an audio rabbit hole—sometimes finding ten different answers to the same question.

They take the electrical signal and turn it into the sound waves we hear. But there's another part of that equation that's easy to overlook:

Your speakers can only reproduce the signal they're given.

If the amplifier isn't providing the power, control, dynamics, and clarity your speakers need, replacing the speakers may not deliver the improvement you're expecting. In fact, replacement can sometimes introduce a whole new set of challenges.

As some of you may have heard me say before: Your system is only as strong as its weakest link.

And before assuming your speakers are that weak link, it's worth asking: Have you really heard what your speakers are capable of? 

They may have far more performance left to give.
